CHRIS LARNER

Chris has written extensively for theatre, most notably for THE RIGHT SIZE (THE PLAY WHAT I WROTE), and in collaboration with Lee Hall (THE BARBER OF SEVILLE). His musicals, THE TRANSLUCENT FROGS OF QUUUP and ON THE ISLAND OF AARS, and THE FRIDA KAHLO OF PENGE WEST were all Edinburgh Festival Fringe hits. His groundbreaking solo show AN INSTINCT FOR KINDNESS, won a Fringe First and multiple accolades, before touring the UK and has recently been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 as an Afternoon Drama. He also wrote, with David Gilbert, the SciFi comedy series THE LAXIAN KEY (BBC Radio 7). He was also commissioned to write DEEPER 'N' DOWN, a screenplay about a Status Quo Tribute Band.


Chris has written songs for a variety of performers, including Nina Conti, Will Young, and Peepolykus. He also provided the music for the West End production of THE MISER, starring Griff Rhys Jones and Lee Mack. His one-man show AN INSTINCT FOR KINDNESS won a Fringe First and multiple accolades at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2011 and on it's UK-wide tour (see www.aifk.co.uk). His latest stage show is the two-hander A SACKFUL OF CUSTARD, about Spike Milligan, at The Pleasance, London and destined for the Edinburgh fringe in August 2018
